John Decerbo is fixing to break the record for a Nitrous Powered Pro Mod w/Converter VERY SOON!

At Norwalk's September 20th Door Wars John lost 2 holes, 2 seconds into his pass, and still ran a 4.04@176.65 breaking his own previous record of 4.05@177 set back in June! John's incrementals on the "Oh so close to a record" pass;

60’ .952
330 2.661
1/8 4.040
MPH 176.65

There is no doubt that the gap between Pro Mod clutch and converter cars is narrowing quickly... We can't wait to see this Nitrous/Converter car run in the 3.90's and it's coming soon!

Congratulations John!!!!

At the 7th Annual NMCA Hot Rod Nationals in Commerce, Georgia two of our customers battled it out for the win in Super Street.

Spiro Pappas started the race off to a good start by setting low ET in qualifying with a 6.754. His quick ET's continued through eliminations where he faced off with Tony Nesbitt in the final round. Pappas chopped down the tree with a .016 light and forced Nesbitt to chase him down but Nesbitt's 7.01@201.82 was no match for Spiro's 6.854@206.23.

In Nostalgia Pro Street we had another "All NCRC" final when Kevin Parent defeated David Beeson with a 7.576@183.12 to Beeson's 7.674@175.62.

Congratulations to both Spiro and Kevin on your wins!

Turbo Todd Kitchen Tulsa Outlaw 10.5 Winner Todd Kitchen aka "Turbo Todd" proved that he and Jeff Holloway are finally getting all the bugs out of his Twin Turbo Outlaw 10.5 Firebird at Tulsa's "$$$ for Titans" race September 20th. Kitchen was working the front half of the track real well and we're not sure if he ran it all the way out the back door on every pass. Regardless, he defeated a redlighting Tobey Blaylock in the final round of Outlaw 10.5 and ran a 6.827@207.88 which is a new personal best! Todd's incrementals were 1.12 60', 2.97 to the 330, and 4.45 @168 at the 1/8th. Keep an eye on this car, it's going to keep on improving!!

Congratulations Todd on your Win and new PB!

Mike Genovese aka "Mike G", another one of our customers from Oklahoma, won the Limited Street class in an all NCRC final. He defeated a traction challenged Kit Long, 7.508@187.44 to 12.624@90. This was also a personal best pass, and quite possibly the quickest to date by a Stock Suspension, Small block, F3 Procharger car!

Congrat's Mike!

Dave Hinzman laid down a new personal best in testing this week at Milan. He went 7.330@197 which is the quickest 1/4 mile pass on radials that we know of so far.

He also cracked the 200 mph barrier with a 7.44@200.16 blast, something that only Shannon Wren has done in the past!

We can't wait to see what happens at the Shakedown at E'town coning up October 4th! It's going to be exciting with the heavy hitters in all the classes get together.

Congrat's Dave and Tom!!

Keith Szabo has been tearing up ORSCA's Limited Street class here lately. On Saturday Szabo qualified 2nd with a 4.8187@160.03. Ron Muenks - File PhotoNeal Chance Racing Converters is pleased to announce that THREE of our customers set NEW WORLD RECORDS in their classes September 6th weekend!

First off in Pro Mod, Ron Muenks in the Black Bat set a new record for a converter car at Tulsa Raceway Park during the Babe Extreme Race. Ron went 3.93@187, then backed it up with a quicker 3.936 during the first round of eliminations. 60' on the record pass was .994 and 330' was 2.61 !!!

Congratulations Ron and your Team!!!

Approximately 300 miles south of Tulsa, Grant McCrary "GMAC" and David Wolfe were in Kennedale, Texas and it was record breaking night at Texas Raceway!!

Grant McCrary "GMAC"Grant McCrary put his name down in the record books for having the first pass in the 4.20's ever in an Outlaw 10.5 car!!!

He stopped the clocks at 4.299 and 178 mph! Incrementals on Grant's pass were 1.14 60', 2.93 330' , 4.299 660' !!!! Weather conditions were 76°, 29.95 in and. Dew Point was 60° - not exactly fall weather, so we can expect more to come from this team no doubt..

When we talked to Grant he commented that he would like to thank Pro-Line Racing Engines and Steve Petty for their help generating the horsepower needed to break the 4.20 barrier.

Congratulations Grant and the GMAC Team on their hard work and the New World Record!

David WolfeMajor Events always seem to happen in threes, and this evening was no exception.. Also at Texas Raceway David Wolfe of Wolfe Racecraft was out testing his Drag Radial car getting ready for Bradenton. On his new cars THIRD PASS Wolfe broke the current Drag Radial Record with a 4.77!!! That's at 3320 lbs too!

Later on the last pass of the night after a little tuning he went : 1.22 60', 3.17 330', result in a 4.708@159 mph. You can bet cell phones were ringing all over the country after that one!!! Wait till they finish getting the bugs out of the new combination and get down to legal weight - all we can say is Bradenton is going to be MIGHTY interesting when the heavy hitters get together!

Congratulations David Wolfe - That was an outstanding performance for a new combo!!!

Keith Szabo jumped into the ORSCA Limited Street points lead after taking home the win at South Georgia Motorsports Park September 7th. Keith qualified #4 with a 4.87 then made his way through the field to match up with Shane Stack in the final round. Keith ran a 4.891 to defeat Stack's 4.894 to take home the win and move himself into #1 position in points.

Congratulations Keith!

Travis Thomason aka "Quaz" proved never giving up can result in handsome rewards Labor Day Weekend at the MAKO race at MoKan Dragway. He started his thrash fest Saturday night after breaking a ring gear in qualifying round 2. Saturday night and Sunday morning were spent chasing parts down and repairing the damage just to find out after repairing the rear end that the battery decided to crap out! Persistence played out for Thomason as he got it running just in time for the first round of eliminations.

Travis made it to the final round where he faced another NCRC customer, Clint Downs who had his own difficulties getting ready after smashing an oil pan during qualifying. The final was a nail biter as both competitors had ran within a hundredth of each other in previous rounds and Downs had just set a new Mako track record of 5.201. In the end it was Thomason who took the win in a pedal fest after Downs redlighted his chances away.

The following weekend Thomason also took home the win at the Babe Extreme race in Tulsa Oklahoma. Travis defeated Mike Genovese in Limited Street on a hole shot win, 5.05 to a 5.02! Can he make it three in a row? We'll find out soon at the Street Machine Nationals at Ozark International...

Congratulations Travis - all that hard work paid off!

Grant McCrary wins Outlaw 10.5 at Clash of the TitansAt the Clash of the Titans race in San Antonio there was an all NCRC customer final in both Outlaw 10.5 and Super Street. Richard and Keith Sexton were on a roll Labor Day Weekend with triple wins!

First at Cecil County's Saturday Night Street Car Shootout Richard, driving the GTO, was running in Big Tire (Pro Mod) class in Outlaw 10.5 trim, 10.5 tires and at 3000lbs. He made it to the finals where he beat Ken Doak with a 6.745@219.22 BLAST vs Doak's aborted 14.035 58.39 pass. That's likely a new record for a Nitrous Outlaw 10.5 car!!!

In the Outlaw 10.5 Class, Richard's son Keith qualified #1 in Quick 8 with both low ET and top speed then proceeded to shred the competition. He ran a 4.47@170 against fellow NCRC Customer Joe Newsham, who despite cutting a telepathic .000 light, had to lift early when he drifted towards the wall.

If the $5000 for winning both classes at Cecil wasn't enough the Sextons decided to go run at US 13 Dragway 10.5 race in Delaware Sunday where Keith took the win in Outlaw 10.5! He defeated Darrin Johnson in the Outlaw 10.5 final with a 5.067@138.34 over Johnson’s 5.514@131.57 - Wow...What a successful weekend!

Congrats to both Richard and Keith Sexton and the Mobley Teams!

Congratulations John!

Also at Columbus Robbie Blankenship took his "Brand X" converter out and replaced it with a Neal Chance unit and promptly set low ET in Hot Street during qualifying! He then proceeded to win a close race in the finals over Ben Mens who ran 8.833@155.91 to Robbie's 8.813@152.78.

This means the NMRA Hot Street World Championship will be decided between two NCRC Customers, Blankenship and Booze during the next race in Bowling Green October 5th!

Welcome to the NCRC Customer Family and Congratulations on your Win Robbie!

We also want to give a shout out to Conrad Scarry and crew who set a new MPH record in Pro Outlaw 10.5 of 215 mph! Scarry had bracket car like consistancey during eliminations but took a dive during the finals where had turbo problems which prevented him from holding off Dan Milen.

Zubler in his 99' T/A defeated Spiro Pappas in an all NCRC Customer final. Pappas 7.2939@150.27 effort wasn't enough to hold off Zubler who ran a 7.201@202.75 with a .018 light!

Congratulations to Shawn on your win! We also want to congratulate Spiro on his strong performances this year!

During the final round of eliminations he defeated the 57 Chevy of Armen Maghdessian setting a new WCHRA record of 7.864@182.7 to Armen's 8.774@169.58. The win was also Dave's first in WCHRA competition even though he's been to the finals a number of times. Bowman now moves into the top spot in points with a solid 100 point lead over his nearest competitor, a strong position going into the last race of their season! Dave runs a single 98mm Turbo in his beautiful 2002 Camaro on 275 Drag Radials and weighs in at 3500lb.

Congratulations Dave on your new record and class win!

Dan Bott II PSCA Hot StreetDan Bott II has been tearing the competition up in PSCA Hot Street this year! Dan and the Bott Motorsports Team have managed to win the last three races in a row and have a solid 225 point lead in the battle for the Hot Street championship.

Consistency has been a crucial key in taking the win light repeatedly for this team, their last 24 runs were within a tenth which is a big deal in the Hot Street class where margins of victory are often within .003!

Congratulations Dan and the Bott Motorsports Team on your victories so far this year!

NCRC Customers ran a clean sweep of the classes at Norwalk August 16th.

John Decerbo in his Tim McAmis built Camaro captured the Door Wars class win against 20 competitors. Decerbo was certainly on his toes cutting two .004 lights during eliminations! He took out Pat Moore in the final round with a 4.117@177.95, a clear win over Moore's 4.503@165.52.

In Outlaw Street Dave Hinzman entered his Drag Radial Mustang against a field of 28 light weight Outlaw 10.5 cars. Hinzman started off the evening by setting top speed in qualifying, showing off his HP advantage which he carried on throughout eliminations with bracket like consistency. Hinzman beat Keith Sletvold in the final round with a 4.929@147.99 to a 5.716@119.42 effort by Sletvold. Not too bad for a heavy D/R car!

Congratulations to both winners from the folks here at Neal Chance Racing Converters!

Alex Vrettos went up against some tough competition August 8th at MIR in the Real Street Class and took home the win! 7.80's were the bump for the quick 8 field, which is quick in anyone's book for a Drag Radial Class.

Vrettos qualified #1 with a 7.43@199.49 - just a hair away from being the next member in the 200 mph club! Richie Stein, one of the fastest NOS cars in Drag Radial, got to see a yellow blur flash past on the top end in the in the finals where Alex defeated him 7.49@193.87 to Stein's 7.62@178.26.

Congratulations Alex and the CoRuPt Motorsports Team on taking home another win!

Conrad Scarry Outlaw 10.5 Winner Conrad Scarry took home another win at Fun Ford Weekend's Bristol race in August. Scarry qualified #2 with a 4.658@164.43. Bad luck with some parts breakage during qualifying didn't keep him from taking out the competition during eliminations. Scarry is currently the points leader in the FFW Street Outlaw and looks to be on his way to winning the Street Outlaw Championship... he's also got a very solid points lead in NMRA Pro Outlaw! Will he win TWO championships this year?

Way to go Guys!!!!

Joe Newsham has sure been on a winning streak this year and nothing changed at Cecil County's Shootout August 2nd. Joe qualified #2 with a 4.62@164 and defeated another NCRC Customer, Mo Hall, in the final round. Newsham went 4.62@164 to Halls quicker reacting but slower 4.72@154.

Dave Hinzman has proved that Alex Vrettos isn't the only Drag Radial Car that can go 7.30's! Last weekend at Milan's D/R race Dave uncorked a 7.38@196.55 during qualifying.

Fast enough that he had to shut it down early to comply with track rules during the race, which he won! Hinzman gets his power from a F3 powered 565 BBC with Profiler 12 degree heads and runs a NCRC Pro Mod converter. Look for some more blazing fast passes from Hinzman and crew once the weather cools off some more!

Congratulations Dave and Crew!

Giuseppe ran 6.351@229.55 but was late at the tree and lost to Mihovetz who ran a 6.483@220.73. That's some impressive MPH and ET considering it was 98 degrees and 140 track temps!

Congratulations Giuseppe and the Muscle Motors Team on your new PSCA Record!

Charlie BooxzeCharlie Booze took home the honors in Hot Street by defeating Robbie Blankenship in the final round. He also set low ET with a 8.809!

John Urist In Super Street Outlaw John Urist won and was cutting some killer lights during eliminations, including a perfect reaction time during the second round.

John Decerbo is back at it again, this time the Canfield, Ohio native took home all the bacon from Norwalks July 19th Door Warz.

Decerbo qualified #1 with a 4.18@177.25 then commenced to put the hurt to his competitors on a hot slimy track running record numbers for a Nitrous Automatic Pro Mod... but get this, he was only on two kits!

When we posted news about John testing our new prototype converter last month, there were some people that could not believe how well this Tim McAmis built Camaro runs the 60' and 330'. Well hot tracks do affect it, but even in the heat this car still out accelerates most Pro Mods regardless of power adder choice. For your viewing pleasure, this time we've got copies of the time slips... Please make sure and note the 60' and 330' ET's !! I think we can safely say that testing is going well...

Time Slip #1
Time Skip #2

We know these don't show the previous .937 60' this car has laid down during cooler weather, but it's still mighty impressive for a hot, slimy track in anyone's book!

Congrat's John on another well deserved win!

New Prototype Ultralight Converter TechnologyJohn DeCerbo did some testing for us June 7th on our new Prototype UltraLight Converter at the Pinks All Out Quick 8 show at Norwalk, Ohio. John was running his Tim McAmis built, 68 Camaro Nitrous Pro Mod powered by a 738 Fulton with a Bruno/Lenco.

"The results were stunning ..."

John recorded a 4.05@177, 6.27@222 in the final round - which is we believe a new record for a Nitrous Pro Mod Automatic!! He gained over a tenth in ET with the NCRC prototype UltraLight Billet Converter with no other changes to the car! But there's more... John's 60' was .937 which most people will say "he had a diaper dragging" or the lights were messed up...."That can't be real..." We know it's hard to believe, and that's ok because we're absolutely certain we're on to something here with this new converter technology and this is not the only testing we've done!

Most people don't realize how hard this car leaves even before testing the new converter, it has consistently ran the 60' harder than most Pro Mods but here's the kicker - the accelerometer data showed a 3.7 G launch!!!! You won't see that with a diaper dragging... 330' was a 2.652 so draw your own conclusions...

We're extremely happy with what we're seeing with this new technology only available here at Neal Chance Racing Converters and can't wait to start selling them, but please remember we're still in the R & D phase and they are not available for sale.... yet. Stay Tuned, it's coming soon!!!

P.S. - Customers with NCRC aluminum drive covers will be able to send their converters in to be upgraded to this new design when it's released...

Alex VrettosAlex Vrettos cranked out a 7.37@198 at MIR's Real Street Race June 28th, breaking his own ET record for Drag Radial! He also defeated Richie Stine for the win - 7.37@198 to Stein's losing 7.54@188.

You have to ask how long it will be before one of these Drag Radial cars breaks into the 6's??? Vrettos ran that ET at 3590 lbs, just imagine what it would do in good air and lighter weight! This fall we may see...

Congratulations Alex and the CoRuPt Motorsports Team on your win and breaking your own record!

Congratulations Grant and Team on your third FFW Victory in a row!!!

New Technology Revealed by Neal Chance Racing Converters

One of the most exciting developments here at NCRC during the last year is some new technology we've been working on with very tight lips. The word been getting out, so late last year a few racers at Orlando and visitors to the NCRC booth at PRI got to sneak a peak at the what we've been working on lately.

What you are seeing here is a Billet Aluminum Pump and Stator converter, a racing industry first! Besides the obvious weight savings we're learning this concept is actually a big improvement in converter efficiency due to our ability to maintain more precise and consistent fin angle and separation as compared to a steel welded pump section. You may be asking yourself will it be worth it? The answer is "YES" and you can't wipe the smile off of our faces!

This technology is still under testing and not available for sale... yet, but stay tuned there is no doubt that it's going to be a BIG leap forward in Racing Automatic Converters!

Chris Nichols wrote in to tell us that he has reset the record for the worlds fastest N/A stock IRS GTO with a 9.76@138. His Black Goat is powered by a 403 ci LS2 using a Turbo 400 and one of our 9" weld together converters.

Chris plans on adding 2 stages of spray and a beefier rear end in the near future so stay tuned for some more news on this late model muscle car.
